Description
The Rendezvous is located on Juniper Point in scenic Boothbay Harbor, Maine. This classic shingle-style Maine cottage offers water views and many of today's amenities, including wireless internet, DVD player, and a washer and dryer on the premises. The Rendezvous is a spacious family-friendly home with 4 bedrooms (all on the second floor: 2 queens, 1 full, 2 twins) and 2 full bathrooms (1 up w/claw foot tub and 1 down with shower), a large fully equipped kitchen, a dining room w/seating for 6-8, a nicely decorated living room, a front porch, a screened back porch, a back deck, and beautiful perennial gardens. Reed Beach is available to renters and is only a short walk. The JPVIS Association offers a 'Renter Membership' and for a small fee, you can enjoy tennis on clay courts (extra cost for lessons), ping pong in the community house, and use of the association docks - Ask Owner for details. The Rendezvous is close to in-town restaurants, quaint shops, fine art galleries, the Maine State Aquarium, the Coastal Botanical Gardens and the Boothbay Railway Village.
Local Activities for the Family: A guest notebook is on the premises to acquaint the Renter to property and also lists local restaurants, activities, and attractions, some of which include: the Opera House and Carousel Music Theater offering family entertainment. The Coastal Botanical Gardens offer scenic walks, talks, and lunches in their cafe. There's Mini Golf, the Boothbay Railway Village, and the Maine State Aquarium offering activities for children. Take the ferry to Monhegan Island or go to Burnt Island for a Lighthouse tour. There are many local camps for children to attend, including the YMCA's popular Camp Knickerbocker and the Boothbay and Southport Yacht Clubs that offer youth sailing programs. Or simply walk to Reed Beach and relax in the sun while the children swim and play in the tidal pool. Eating Maine Lobster is a must, so please support this important industry by cooking your own or dining out in town at one of the many restaurants offering this delicious fare.
Activities in Surrounding Communities: Family activities and Arts and Antiques are plentiful as you travel north or south. Start north in Camden and visit the Camden Hills State Park offering hiking at Mount Megunticook and swimming at Lake Megunticook. See the Children's Chapel in Rockport, then travel to Rockland to visit the Center for Maine Contemporary Art and the Farnsworth Art Museum. Both Camden and Rockland offer great restaurants and shopping. Stop in Damariscotta for delicious oysters and shopping fun at Reny’s. Travel south to Brunswick to Bowdoin College offering music and performing arts events and visit their fantastic art gallery. Popham Beach State Park in Phippsburg and Reid State Park in Georgetown are wonderful day trips for the entire family to enjoy beautiful beaches, perfect for swimming and picnics. And don't forget to go to Freeport to shop at LLBean.

There is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy, whether your needs are a quiet reading space, fun board games at the dining room table, cooking, and baking in the kitchen, or a movie in the evening in the comfort of the living room.
