Welcome to Ocean Point, East Boothbay, Maine. Ocean Point is a friendly community of seasonal, rental and year-round families, many of whom have been coming here for generations.
We hope that your stay at “The Jigger” is a wonderful experience. Our cottage, purchased January 2021, has an interesting history. Rev. Lewis G. Wilson built “Fir Cabin”, the gray cottage with white trim closer to Shore Road, about 1911. He organized the construction of the stone chapel which was dedicated in August of 1917 in memory of his first wife Janet. In 1916 Rev. Wilson built his study he referred to as “The Jigger” behind his original cottage.
The views of the Atlantic Ocean and islands are spectacular with lots of activity on the water even in the fog. You may enjoy rock climbing, exploring the beaches and tidal pools, swimming, fishing, birding, boating and walking.
The Card Cove Association (CCA) owns the dock across the road from The Ocean Point Inn. As our guests you have privileges to use the dock for swimming, fishing and boating. Please be mindful of posted rules. Moorings in Card Cove can be secured if so desired.
Ocean Point Colony Trust maintains a campus around Park and High Streets which include a building, The Casino, with a wraparound porch with rocking chairs, patio, children’s play structure and sand box, tennis, pickle ball and basketball courts and fields across the road. There are scheduled activities for children and adults during the summer. Information and reservation fees for tennis and pickle ball are posted on an outside bulletin board. Andy Smith is our long time OPCT Activities Director and lives in the white clapboard cottage on the property.
